Annual Events

Girl Scout Day

Every year HSU SWE members collaborate to put on the annual Girl Scout Day. Members lead small scale labs with the young girls that demonstrate engineering concepts such as; viscosity, leverage, and structural strength. The girls get to participate in hands-on activities and learn how fun science and math can be.

SWE Social

The SWE Social is an annual event where students can network with professionals. Women in the engineering industry come to answer questions, give advice, and enjoy a good time with the students.

Brown Bag Speaker Series

Brown Bag Speaker sessions give students the opportunity to learn specifics about resume building and networking from local engineers as well as people from HSU's career center. 

SWEshi

SWEshi is an annual event held every Fall semester. SWE provides rice and nori, and students are invited to bring sushi additions of their choice. SWEshi is a great opportunity to connect with other engineering students and have a great time making delicious sushi rolls.

Paddle Fest

Paddle Fest is a great activity for SWE members to participate in that challenges them to build a kayak with only cardboard and tape. The activity is only an hour long and participants have to work in a team to succeed.
